ART326 EXPERIMENTAL ANIMATION
PROMPTS FOR 30 SECOND EXPERIMENTS:
During a three hour studio class students are asked to respond in an open and experimental manner to prompts. They are first introduced to animating "soft" medium (charcoal, erasure, paint, and rice), then rigid material (torn paper, tracing paper, newspaper), and layers and light (silhouette and motion collage). For one project students must record all of their own sound effects. For the next they may use a mix of original effects with archival audio. Collaborative. Objectives: Begin to understand timing and movement, use of frame-grabbing software, facility with lighting and exposure, play with a variety of techniques, introduce audio and develop rhythm.
